We sometimes are asked by couples when we first discuss their wedding plans if it is really necessary to photograph the “getting ready” part of the wedding day. Our reply is that this time is part of the story of the wedding day and should really be documented to help tell the full story of the day. I also think that looking at many of the photographs we have taken over the years of this part of the day, the pictures speak for themselves. In the images above, the brides and her bridesmaids are having a wonderful time together and as previously mentioned, this is part of the wedding day journey.
Part of the rest of the time we spend photographing during this part of the day, we are also photograph many of the details which can sometimes be forgotten after the wedding day is past. There are many items we need to record during this time. The items to be photographed include but are not limited to the bridal gown, the bride’s shoes, jewellery, flowers including the bridal bouquet and buttonholes and any special items the bride has around her that are in some way special. We also spend time photographing the final stages of the hair and makeup process for the bride and other relevant members of the bridal party.
