Engagement Photography by the river Rivelin

This engagement photograph was taken next to the river Rivelin to the north-west of Sheffield on a beautiful early summer evening. I'm always amazed by the number of wonderful places I have managed to visit and see during my life, but I'm even more amazed by the number of places I've not seen, particularly when they are only a mile or two from home! This area next to the river Rivelin is one of them. I must have driven along Rivelin Valley Road several hundred times but until this engagement photography photo shoot, I'd never actually got out of the car and walked along the side of the river.

Rivelin Valley Engagement Photography

While walking along the side of the river in the Rivelin Valley we came across this wonderful cast iron chair set on a small man-made island close to the river bank. I think this chair in the river is amazing, a wonderful piece of sculpture and something that is really different. It is close enough to the bank that someone reasonably agile can climb across to it with the added excitement of the potential for wet shoes if the escapade goes wrong! It makes for a fantastic situation to photograph in with the wonderful trees and opposite river bank as a backdrop it has proved a useful place to return to for engagement photography on a couple of occasions.
