Chaffinch at the Red Deer Range

The chaffinch is one of the most common and widespread birds in the UK but it doesn’t stop them being wonderful birds to see and watch. This one is sitting on a fence post at the red deer range on the A712 Queensway in Dumfries and Galloway Forest Park in Scotland in 2015.

It is not only red deer which can be seen from the deer hide, there are also lots of bird feeders which attract a massive variety of wild birds which only go to enhance the experience of visiting the hide.

The red deer range can be found on the north side of The Queen's Way (A712) between Newton Stewart and New Galloway.
